About This Fundraiser

Over 100 women have completed their training in Transformation India Movement’s Sewing school but are waiting for their sewing machine so they can begin their work as a tailor or seamstress. For the majority of women in Bihar, education, let alone self-provision is rare. As one woman said to us “my sewing machine is life!” We have a goal to ensure that 100 women (and hopefully more!) will be able to spend the rest of this year beginning their new life putting their new skills to work. Just $100 will provide a foot-powered Singer sewing machine for one of these graduates. Each machine not only equips a woman for her trade, but also empowers her to realize she is loved and seen by Jesus and has a voice in this world.

About Women Empowerment ($225 per woman)

The majority of women in Bihar have little education and possess few marketable skills. Transformation 1040 trains and equips women to start their own micro-enterprise business, in the context of Christ-centered training. Your support of $225 provides one woman six months of training in the Bridge of Hope Sewing School and her very own pedal-powered sewing machine. Women graduate from the program not only prepared to help support their families but with a new understanding of Jesus. Approximately 40% of students enter into a life-transforming relationship with Jesus.

GOAL: Provide sewing instruction and a sewing machine to 240 women.
